With two decades of experience as a writer and marketing professional, Ellen is an expert in high-level copy and messaging. She has driven the development and content strategy of many Web projects for clients such as IBM/Lotus, Intuit, Xoriant and Packeteer. As Director of Corporate Marketing for WebLogic, Ellen oversaw the entire marketing strategy—corporate identity, public relations, advertising, collateral and launch programs—for one of the most successful technology products of the Internet boom. Prior to that, Ellen was a senior strategist and communications director for East Bay-based Successful Marketing Strategists, a pioneer in Web marketing. Ellen was principal speechwriter for AutoDesk CEO Carol Bartz as well as executive presentations manager—producing complex multimedia presentations for this leading design software company.
Ellen began her career as a journalist in Washington, DC, Chicago and the Bay Area—specializing in financial and business reporting as well as the film industry, as staff writer at Cue Magazine. Ellen earned her Masters in Journalism from Northwestern University's prestigious Medill School of Journalism and her Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from UC Berkeley.
